Jawbreaker Soul

Life shapes us, layer by layer. With every experience—each joy, heartache, triumph, and stumble—we add another coat of color to who we are. Over time, these layers can feel heavy, hiding the brilliance of the soul within. But beneath every scar and every story, our essence remains untouched, waiting to shine.
Jawbreaker Soul is a reflection of this journey. A poetic exploration of how we build up, break down, and ultimately return to our truest selves—not by force, but by the gentle unraveling of all we no longer need. It is a reminder that the path to wholeness is not about becoming something new, but about remembering who we’ve always been.

Jawbreaker Soul
At birth, we shine—so pure, so bright,
a glowing core of love and light.
But life begins, and piece by piece,
layers form and never cease.
The first is thin, a childhood glaze,
soft with wonder, joy ablaze.
Adolescence paints in streaks so wide—
shades of love and wounded pride.
With every year, the shell expands,
built by joys and failed plans.
Pain unspoken, grief unwept,
each unprocessed truth is kept.
Until one day, the weight is clear—
a hardened sphere of doubt and fear.
Yet deep inside, unchanged, still whole,
our boundless, love-lit, shining soul.
But layers crumble, melt away,
with every truth we dare to say.
Not by force, but by the grace
of turning inward to meet their face.
Observe the hurt, the joy, the scars,
thank the lessons, name the stars.
Accept their place, then set them free—
a lighter soul, at last, to be.
