This song was inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:6–7, which says, “Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.” It’s a verse that has meant a lot to me over the years—not only for its deep spiritual resonance, but because it’s one of my mom’s favorite verses. As I’ve grown into my own understanding, I’ve come to feel the truth of them in my bones.

The “Lord,” to me, is another name for Pure Consciousness, the Universe, God, the Absolute Unbounded Manifold—what some call the Tao, the Void, the Unmanifest. All of these are names for I. I am the All. I am everything and nothing. The body is just a temporary vessel, a divine vehicle through which I experience the illusion of form. I am not my body—but my body is me, just as a wave is the ocean, even if it forgets.

To walk by faith is to trust what can’t be seen, to move with the quiet knowing that all is connected, all is held. The physical world appears separate—but that’s the illusion. In truth, there is no distance, no other, no lack. There is only one field of Being. And so, placing my faith in what I truly am—instead of what I see—is the essence of truth.

This song is both a tribute and a testimony. It’s a remembering. A prayer. A rhythm of surrender. I don’t need to see the path to know I’m on it. I don’t need to see the shore to know I’m already home. I walk by faith—not by sight.
